Kids’ Chance of South Carolina, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation developed in 1992 by the S.C. Workers’ Compensation Educational Association. Its purpose is to provide financial scholarships for children of South Carolina workers killed or seriously injured in work-related accidents.
“I am honored to serve in this new role as president and to continue to fulfill the mission of Kids’ Chance,” said Halberg. “Kids’ Chance graduates are working as lawyers, doctors and nurses. It is rewarding work to help them succeed.”
Halberg is a senior associate with Collins & Lacy practicing in workers’ compensation. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Halberg’s commitment to community service was honored by the Rotary Club of Five Points in 2008 as she was awarded the Charles C. Foster Rotarian of the Year. Halberg is currently a member of the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association, South Carolina Self Insurers Association and an alumni of Leadership Columbia.
“Collins & Lacy is lucky to have attorneys like Rebecca who are so dedicated to their practice as well as their community,” said managing partner Ellen Adams. “We are proud to have her representing our firm while helping children and families in the Palmetto State.”
