Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met with the highest level of professionalism and expertise.
• Provide effective legal counsel in defending civil disputes in South Carolina.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, mediation, and arbitration proceedings.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis of legal issues.
• Develop and implement strategies to grow the law firm and expand the firm’s presence in South Carolina.
• Collaborate with lawyers within the firm to provide comprehensive legal solutions for clients.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the South Carolina Bar.
• Federal District Court of South Carolina (preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil defense law and a demonstrated track record in defending civil matters.
• Excellent analytical, writing, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Immediate opportunity for a Legal Assistant with an established law firm in Columbia, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will be experienced, self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to manage a large case load as well as anticipate, prioritize, and execute tasks to meet deadlines.
Requirements
3+ years of litigation experience or legal assistant experience
Excellent typing and transcription skills
Experience with large litigation cases
Proficiency with CM/ECF filing (Federal and State)
Ability to work closely with our attorneys
Proficiency with MS Office
Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills
Attention to detail
Quick learner who accepts accountability for their work
Experience with a case management system
Additional Qualifications Preferred
Experience in civil defense matters and mediations
Experience working with ProLaw
