Collins & Lacy, P.C. Attorney Appointed to Chair Retail and Hospitality Committee for DRI

Christian Stegmaier was appointed as Chair of the Retail and Hospitality Committee for DRI. Stegmaier has been a member of DRI since 2004 and an involved member of the Retail and Hospitality Committee since its inception nearly a decade ago. He has served as the vice chair of the 2014 DRI Retail and Hospitality Seminar, and vice chair of the whole committee from 2018-2020. Stegmaier has also served as the Industry Relations chair and the Webinar chair along the way.

“DRI is the voice of the civil defense bar in this country, and the Retail and Hospitality Committee is one of this organization’s most vibrant and engaged committees,” said Stegmaier. “Our committee is responsible for, among other things, presenting the preeminent CLE seminar on retail and hospitality law in the United States, which in 2021 will be held at Walt Disney World in Orlando. We’ve assembled a great team of lawyers, risk managers, claims professionals, and others in these industries who are dedicated to promoting the values of education, justice, balance, economics, professionalism, and diversity. I’m committed to working hard with my teammates to lead this already great committee to new heights.”

DRI is the leading organization in the nation for defense attorneys and in-house counsel. Membership in DRI provides members with access to the resources and tools that they need to provide high-quality service to the clients that they serve. DRI is made up of 29 specialty committees that focus on developing ongoing and important dialogue in regard to specific areas of practice. The Retail and Hospitality committee is one of the 29. DRI focuses on five main goals: education, justice, balance, economics, and professionalism and service. Their mission is to be committed to enhancing the skills, effectiveness, and professionalism of defense lawyers; anticipating and addressing issues germane to defense lawyers and the civil justice system; promoting appreciation of the role of the defense lawyer; and improving the civil justice system and preserving the civil jury. “This appointment means a great deal to me both personally and professionally,” said Stegmaier. “I’ve been involved and engaged in DRI for a long time. Moreover, I study and think a great deal about leadership and teamwork. Hopefully it can be said that this appointment is recognition by my peers of their belief in my being a good teammate and a capable leader who can lead Retail and Hospitality to new success.”
