At the regular business meeting on January 17, 2012, the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission approved a revised 5% Commuted Value or Net Present Value Table as authorized by SC Statute 42-9-301 and Regulation 67-1605. The new table was approved in order to correct calculation errors in the previous table.
It is important to note that the revised commuted value table reduces the number of weeks paid. For example, under the old table, the present value of 500 weeks was 408.2957. It is now 396.8116. The present value of 340 weeks, the maximum number of weeks for a partial wage loss award, has been reduced from 294.1584 to 289.8974.
