With the new year in full force, some of the Workers’ Compensation Commission guidelines have changed for 2015:
- Mileage reimbursement for travel to and from authorized medical treatment has increased to 57.5 cents per mile, up from 56 cents per mile in 2014
- Maximum compensation rate has increased to $766.05 for injuries occurring on or after January 1, 2015, up from $752.16 in 2014
- Pre-hearing briefs (Form 58) and notices of witnesses for single commissioner hearings are to be uploaded via eCase (the Commission’s website portal) rather than US mail
The Commission confirmed the lump sum discount rate will remain at 2% for weeks 1-500, based on the Federal Reserve’s Five Year U.S. Treasury Note yield-to-maturity rate, which is down to 1.6%. However, based on Regulation 67-1605, the Commission cannot lower the lump sum payment discount below 2%.
The Commission has also assembled a Narcotics Use Advisory Committee, so we may see some changes in 2015 dealing with narcotic prescription drugs.
