The business community is optimistic about McCaskill’s appointment due to his experience and reputation. McCaskill currently serves as a senior executive assistant in Attorney General Alan Wilson’s office. His prior business experience includes working as a grocer for two decades in the Camden area and most recently as Director of Admissions at Camden Military Academy. He also has served on Kershaw County Council, The South Carolina Commission on Consumer Affairs and The South Carolina Educational Television Commission.
The Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved the nomination of businessman Gene McCaskill to fill a term on the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission. The nomination now moves to the full South Carolina Senate for consideration.
