Hospitality Day at the State House

Wednesday, May 7, 2014 is Hospitality Day at the State House hosted by the South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association (SCRLA). During this event, the restaurant and hotel industry will speak with lawmakers about how important food service, lodging and tourism is to the state’s economy. Some of the issues the SCRLA is battling at the State House include maintaining advertising and promotion campaigns with destination-specific marketing funding; removing sales tax on guest services from hotel bills; supporting legislation permitting the donation of alcoholic beverages to non-profit events; minimum wage hikes and protecting the tip credit; improving the state’s roadways; and, promoting career cluster funding to ensure there is a well-trained workforce through secondary and post-secondary education.

The SCRLA invites all those in the industry to participate in Hospitality Day. Visit http://schospitality.org/ to register for the event.
