[COLUMBIA, S.C. – May 27, 2015] – Collins & Lacy, P.C. is pleased to announce Kerri Rupert has joined the firm’s Columbia office as an associate practicing in the areas of retail and hospitality law and professional liability defense.
Rupert’s experience includes serving as a staff attorney for the South Carolina Court of Appeals, where she had the opportunity to become very familiar with appellate motions practice. At Collins & Lacy, Rupert will be defending national and regional leaders in retail, hospitality, and entertainment sectors doing business in the Palmetto State in claims involving liability, loss prevention, food adulteration, third party torts, and alcohol liability. Rupert also represents healthcare providers, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, financial and investment advisors, attorneys, insurance brokers and agents in professional liability litigation.
“We are thrilled Kerri has come to join the firm, and in particular, the retail and hospitality practice group,” said Christian Stegmaier, chair of the group and member of the firm’s management committee. “She brings a wealth of experience with appellate briefing and motions, which will bring great insight for frame-working and conclusions that can help be more cost-effective and timely to our clients.”
Rupert attended the University of South Carolina for her undergraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communications and received her juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
“I am excited to be joining Collins & Lacy, which has a stellar reputation in the courts,” said Rupert. “I am looking forward to helping protect the businesses of South Carolina through their legal needs and interests.”
