[COLUMBIA, S.C. May 7, 2012] – Collins & Lacy, P.C. is pleased to announce Alyssa Hasell has been recognized by one of the largest professional associations for public relations practitioners. The South Carolina chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (SCPRSA) awarded Hasell with the “Rookie of the Year” honor at its 2012 Mercury Awards celebration. The “Rookie of the Year” is presented annually to a member who shows great promise as a public relations practitioner.
Hasell started her career at Collins & Lacy in May 2011 as the communications coordinator. In that short time, she has proven to be a talented and competent marketing and public relations professional who has turned her creativity into results.
“Good law firm marketing requires vision and insight into the value systems of those who will be reached by your campaign,” said Stefanie Caraviello, director of marketing and communications at Collins & Lacy. “Possessing one of the most creative minds I’ve ever met, Alyssa has worked tirelessly to advance the image and brand of Collins & Lacy.”
Public relations practitioners across the state are eligible to enter SCPRSA’s Mercury Awards competition, which was judged this year by the PRSA chapter in Roanoke, Virginia. The Rookie of the Year award is one of only six individual awards given by SCPRSA.
In her spare time, Hasell serves on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Chapter of the International Society of Business Communicators (IABC-SC) and on the Marketing and Communications Committee for Columbia Opportunity Resource (COR). Hasell also is the past president of SCPRSA’s student chapter at the University of South Carolina.
“This award is truly a product of a great support system for young PR professionals in my community: mentors from SCPRSA, IABC SC and COR, opportunities presented by the University of South Carolina School of Journalism and encouragement from my employer, Collins & Lacy. They have all given me the chance to do my best,” said Hasell.
