[COLUMBIA, S.C.] – Collins & Lacy, P.C. is pleased to announce that Charles L. Appleby has been appointed to the 2009-2010 Board of Visitors of the Medical University of South Carolina.
The Board of Visitors serves as a liaison between the Medical University and the South Carolina community, working to communicate the goals and priorities of MUSC to the citizens that it serves. The Board of Visitors is committed to raising the standards of health and education within the state of South Carolina, keeping the state’s citizens updated on the role and mission of the Medical University of South Carolina.
Charles is an associate practicing in employment law, complex defense litigation, and construction defect litigation. Originally from Columbia, SC, Charles graduated from the University of Florida and received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, he served as the Student Bar Association President, initiated the inaugural University of South Carolina School of Law Career Week, and was a student member of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court. Since joining Collins & Lacy in 2007, Charles has remained active both in the legal field and the community. His articles have appeared in numerous publications including The South Carolina Lawyer and he is an active member of the USC Alumni Association Board of Governors, USC Council of Alumni Societies, Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, and Central South Carolina Alliance.
