The March Madness Workshop, titled “Make Your Risk Management Program a Slam Dunk,” will be March 4 – 6, 2012 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Christian Boesl and Michael Pitts will lend their employment law knowledge in the breakout session “Flagrant Fouls in Hiring, Firing and Discipline” on March 5 from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m.

About Christian Boesl
Christian is a shareholder and chair of the Employment Practice Group for the firm. His practice focus includes both employment law and workers’ compensation law. Although Christian’s practice concentrates in State Court, Federal District Court and the Workers’ Compensation Commission, he also maintains an active practice pursuing alternative dispute resolution for his clients. Christian joined Collins & Lacy as a law clerk and stayed on as an attorney after being admitted to the South Carolina Bar. During law school, Christian was an Honor Council Justice, 2002 Moot Court Champion and quarterfinalist in the Herbert J. Weschler National Criminal Law Moot Court Competition.
About Michael Pitts
Michael Pitts is a shareholder practicing in employment law, an area in which he has spent most of his 15-year career helping businesses with labor and employment matters and complex commercial cases. Michael is experienced in litigation and arbitration, as well as counseling management on ways to avoid disputes. He currently serves as the Anderson County Attorney. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Michael graduated with distinction from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was made a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Michael received his Juris Doctor from The University of South Carolina School of Law. He was a member of the South Carolina Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Wig and Robe. Michael has been honored as one of the Best Lawyers in America for his work in labor & employment litigation and employment law management.

The purpose of South Carolina chapter of PRIMA will be to increase the proficiency of risk, insurance, and benefits in government and other public entities through education and networking, to support the mission and goals of PRIMA as documented in its Long Range Plan, and to act in any other manner that will further the best interests of governments, governmental agencies, intergovernmental risk pools, school districts, and other special districts in their risk management activities.
