New associate to practice with firm’s retail & hospitality group in Columbia
[COLUMBIA, S.C. May 22, 2019] – J. Scott Pierce has joined Collins & Lacy’s Columbia office as an associate in the Retail & Hospitality Practice Group.
The firm’s Retail and Hospitality Practice Group defends leading national and regional brands operating retail, hotel, food service, bar, and entertainment establishments.
“Scott graduated from the South Carolina Honors College; was captain for the University’s track and field team; earned his law degree from Southern Cal; completed a clerkship; and has worked for major private companies and the federal government,” said Christian Stegmaier, Retail and Hospitality practice group leader. “We are proud that an attorney with such a distinguished resume has joined our firm.”
Before beginning his business litigation defense practice in 2018, J. Scott Pierce clerked for the Honorable L. Casey Manning (Fifth Circuit); worked as a policy specialist for the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and as a tax associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers. He earned a psychology degree from University of South Carolina Honors College and his J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law. While at the University of South Carolina, he was a four-year letterman of the men’s Track and Field team.
