Extremely knowledgeable and very experienced in appellate procedure, Collins & Lacy has a skilled team of appellate attorneys who have served as law clerks and staff attorneys for the South Carolina Court of Appeals and South Carolina Supreme Court, as well as attorneys who have had numerous published decisions at the state and federal levels.

The Collins & Lacy Appellate Practice Group is accomplished in their knowledge of the law and well-versed in the Rules of Appellate Procedures at both the state and federal level.  Due to the complex nature of appellate issues, our attorneys invest considerable time in the research of related issues, cases, and new and changing laws.

With a comprehensive focus on the rules and standards of review appellate courts employ, we carefully address a number of matters, including the correction of errors committed by the trial court, development of the law, achieving a uniform approach across courts, and the pursuit of justice.

We energetically pursue appeals in cases the firm has already managed through trial, as well as cases involving clients the firm did not represent in the original trial. Whether working to reverse an adverse judgment, or protect a favorable judgment from reversal, we strive to bring the appeal to a favorable outcome.
