Collins & Lacy Steps Out in Support of the Second Annual NAMIWALKS in Columbia, South Carolina

[ COLUMBIA, S.C.] Collins & Lacy, P.C. was pleased to step out in support of the Second Annual NAMIWalks in Columbia, South Carolina for the National Alliance on Mental Illness on Saturday, April 25th, 2009.

Together with friends and family, Collins & Lacy firm members participated in the 5K walk that was held at the West Columbia Riverwalk Park and Amphitheatre.  NAMI is an organization committed to raising awareness of mental health issues across the country and hopes that by sponsoring the walk in Columbia, NAMI will also raise awareness in the South Carolina communities.  There were more than 1100 walkers in the event.   All of the proceeds from the NAMIWalks will be used to fund NAMI’s programs, which include support, education, advocacy and the encouragement of research involving mental illnesses. 

“We were glad to be able to take part in the walk again this year to help raise awareness in our community about mental illness,” offered Eddie Sullivan, the firm’s NAMIWalks Chairperson.
