Collins & Lacy Welcomes Jack D. Griffeth Of Counsel

[Greenville, S.C.] Collins & Lacy, PC is pleased to announce that Jack D. Griffeth has joined the firm Of Counsel, in the practice areas of Employment and Mediation. 

As a former shareholder at Love, Thornton, Arnold & Thomason in Greenville, SC, Jack’s 32 year practice of law has focused on defense trial work and mediation.  He serves as General Counsel to Wofford College, Furman University, and Spartanburg Methodist College and has developed a defense practice representing employers in employment related litigation. “Collins & Lacy is honored to have Jack Griffeth Of Counsel to the firm," said Stan Lacy, founding partner of the firm.  "His extensive experience as a defense trial attorney and outstanding reputation in mediation will allow him to make significant contributions to our clients' interests in these areas.” 

Jack has been certified as a mediator by the South Carolina Bar and speaks frequently on the subject of mediation.   He is a member of the International Association of Defense Council and has been selected for membership in Outstanding Lawyers of America.  He is the past president of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Council, and he will serve as the keynote speaker at the 2008 South Carolina Self-Insurer’s Conference in April.   He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the South Carolina Defense Trial Lawyers Association.  Jack is a summa cum laude graduate of Wofford College where he earned his degree in Liberal Arts.  He received his Juris Doctor from Duke University. 

He is an active member of the Greenville Community, currently serving as a guest lecturer for Emergency Medical Seminars. He has also served two terms as President of the Board of Directors for the Meyer Center for Special Children, and he also served a single term as Vice President of the Senior Action Board of Directors.  He is a past member of the Duke Law School Alumni Council, Wofford Alumni Council, and also served a two year term as a Loaned Executive for United Way.
